Let’s take gender-based violence off the menu. 15,000 pizza boxes to say no to gender-based violence
November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Fighting violence against women is something we feel very strongly about, and this year we decided we needed to do more. We now support D.i.R.E, an Italian association offering free assistance to girls and women victims of violence from men, with a donation as well as a special initiative.
Until November 28th, all pizza boxes (there are more than 15,000 of them!) used in our restaurants in Italy will have a sticker with a QR code linking to the D.i.R.E website page listing the Association’s support centres and the relevant contact details. It’s our way of turning pizza boxes into something useful, a hopeful reminder that violence can be overcome.
The women’s support centres are the heart of the Association’s project. Their daily commitment to women choosing to take their individual path to freedom cannot be celebrated enough.
We felt we needed to do our part.
